An Ethnographic Theory of the GOP Primaries
Usually I find “American nations” maps like this to be trite at best, but from what I’ve read of Colin Woodward’s ideas they seem to touch on a deeper truth of American history that doesn’t really get much play. The USA is absolutely the amalgam of several very different colonial/colonizing projects, the legacies of which are very apparent in contemporary political and social ideologies.
